The LNG receiving station is an organic whole composed of many related equipment assemblies. Only by mutual cooperation of these equipments can the LNG transported by sea be stored in the LNG storage tank through a certain process and then be exported to users. These equipment include discharge arm, storage tank, low-pressure delivery pump, high-pressure delivery pump, carburetor, BOG compressor, flare tower, etc.
Discharge arm
The role of the unloading arm, as the name suggests, is to transfer the LNG from the marine transport ship to the storage tank's mechanical arm through the corresponding pipeline. It is the first step of the LNG receiving station to receive LNG. The difficulty it needs to overcome is that the low temperature cold storage and all-round rotation will not leak. In addition to the discharge arm, the gas-phase return arm should also be installed at the receiving station to prevent the danger of negative pressure in the tank of the transport vessel during the discharge.
Tank
The storage tank is the place where LNG is stored. The type selection should be considered from the comprehensive factors of safety, investment, operation cost and environmental protection. LNG storage tanks are atmospheric, low temperature large storage tanks. The storage tank structure includes single containment tank, double containment tank, full containment tank and membrane tank.
Low-pressure delivery pump
Its role is to extract LNG from the storage tank and send it to the downstream device, which is an important equipment in the transportation system.
High-pressure delivery pump
The function is to directly enter the LNG from the re-condenser into the LNG high-pressure delivery pump, pressurize it and deliver it to the vaporizer.
Carburetor
Its role is to vaporize liquid natural gas into gaseous natural gas, and then send it to the gas pipeline network after pressure regulation, odorization and metering. Seawater is generally used as the vaporization medium.
BOG compressor
Is used for pressurization and gas transportation, that is, a part of the evaporative gas generated in the storage tank is boosted by the compressor into the re-condenser, and then sent to the carburetor through the high-pressure external pump together with the external LNG.
Torch Tower
The function of the torch tower is to burn the exhaust gas and adjust the pressure in the tank at the same time.
